Looking for love with a special someone!

If you are the special someone who has room in your heart and your home for this adorable little brown ticked tabby who feels like velvet when you pet her - please give us a call today.  She can go to a sanctuary and live with other Felv+ kitties in a special place just for them, but we know she'd thrive in a loving home even better!  Just come and visit her and I KNOW she'll melt your heart!!

My Rescue Story:

I was rescued near the Wishbone cafe on 18th Street in Waterloo, IA.  When found, I was malnourished and suffering from an upper respiratory infection.  My eyes were swollen and almost matted shut, my nose was running and crusty and my ears were so dirty and they itched terrible!

That's when my guardian angel Ashley appeared.  She was kind enough to take me home and try to find someone to help me.  I'm sooooo thankful to her.  She took me to TigeraCat Rescues.  I do my best to purr loudly and rub against every human hand so everyone knows just how happy I am to be alive!

TigeraCat Rescues gave me a bath, cleaned my ears, gave me medicine for my eyes, ears, & nose, a clean, comfy, safe place to sleep, fresh litter, and lots of food and water.  I know I'm in good hands now!  Hopefully, all will go well and I'll get better so I can find my furr-ever home.  I'm SURE I'll be able to sweet-talk my way into somebody's heart!

Update Feb. 28, 2010
:
Lucky tested positive on the IFA test for FeLv.  She still could live a nice long life, as she is healthy and bright and loving and sweet and... could live with a special someone in a home as an ONLY KITTY and I promise you she'd give you more love than you'd know what to do with!

Update Feb. 11,2010:
Lucky was spayed today and more blood was drawn to see if she is also positive on the IFA test for Feline Leukemia.  If it comes back positive, she will be accepted into a sanctuary for Feline Leukemia kitties!!!!!!  YEAH!  Our sweet little Lucky won't have to live her life in a cage!!

But if there is a special someone out there who would like to adopt her... that would be terrific!  She is the sweetest little soul - all she wants is to love and be loved - how about sharing your love with her??

Update Feb. 18, 2010:  Lucky was tested again with the Elisha test for Feluk on 11/17 and unfortunately it came back positive again... so it looks like she did not shed the Feluk virus as we had hoped.  She is such a loving, sweet, affectionate creature, it is just a shame that she may have to live her life in a cage if no one adopts her and gives her a chance to live her life in a loving home.  If you'd be the one compassionate person willing to love her for as long as she has, please contact us!  She'll give you a lifetime of love in a short time!  She doesn't look sick and has more than doubled her weight since she arrived in August when she was so ill.  Super soft, velvety fur that you'll just love to run your fingers through, and she'll love it when you do!

Update Oct. 19, 2009:  Lucky wants you to know... "I've been doing so good since I finished all my medications - you'd never ever know I am FeLuk positive!  I LOVE people and can hardly get enough lovin' and snuggling!  I'd sure like to meet you if you're someone who will take a chance on a FeLuk+ kitty, as I can live quite awhile with this, and I'd love to spend my life with YOU!"

Update Aug. 20, 2009:  I went to the vet today cuz I just wasn't feeling well and we got some bad news.  I tested positive for feline leukemia (FeLV), and it's weakened my immune system.  Now we know why I just didn't have the normal kitten energy.  They almost had me euthanized but I purrrrrrred my way out of that one!  Doc says I might pull through with some help, so it was decided to let me try.  I'm in a special cage set up with a vaporizer, my prescription food, kitten milk, food, and litter.  I'm on 4 different oral meds and 1 in my eyes.  I'm by myself right now, so I don't catch anything else that can make me sick.  I sure hope we can raise the money to buy my medicines.  I'm gonna fight really hard!  I just can't see not being with such great humans!  Oh, please, SPONSOR me or donate to TCR today and help them pay for what I need.

ADOPTION FEE:  Adoption fee for Lucky is negotiable due to her special needs.  If you are interested in adopting Lucky, please give us a call.
