Snowball
Snowball came into our lives on September 9, 2006, as a sad, dirty, hungry little kitten. Someone had dumped him out in the country near our acreage and he was in rough shape. We brought him in and at first he was so scared that he just huddled in the back of the cardboard box, too afraid to even eat. By the next day, however, he was brave enough to come out and wanted to be cuddled. He soon became a family member and we couldn't imagine life without him. He was the most beautiful cat I have ever seen -- long, pure white fur with a gorgeous fluffy tail. He always liked to be involved with whatever we were doing and would constantly amaze us with his intelligence. Everything in life was more fun with Snowball around. He developed a urinary blockage in February of 2010, which damaged his kidneys. Snowball died on February 13, 2010, and is missed every single day. -- Mr. and Mrs. Nabholz (Snowball's parents)
Pepper ( -2008)
Pepper's owner was diagnosed with terminal cancer and was transferred to a nursing facility. Family locked Pepper outdoors assuming "he'll take care of himself...he's a cat". Being declawed and a loved household cat he was lonely, scared, and starving. A neighbor rescued him and brought him to TigeraCat Rescues. He'd been injured by neighboring ferals and had contracted feline leukemia. He developed tumors on his tongue, mouth, chin, & throat and eventually succumbed to the disease. Pepper was a sweet young boy who spoke each morning and answered every question with a purr & a meow. A bright young life wasted by uncaring, ignorant hands of humans.
Raja
Raja was rescued on Valentines Day 2000 with her daughter Daxer. Raja was the most tolerant of cats and loving of critters. Petite in nature, she was huge of heart and loved everybody! She fought intestinal issues her entire life and finally succumbed in 2006 after becoming severely ill and surgery was no longer an option to save her. We love you Raja!
Ryu (2007-2009)
Sweet Ryu ... a beloved, apartment cat was a free spirit, full of love, energy, and a thirst for adventure. "Nothing could stop him", said his owners. He'd spent his first year as a free-roaming, indoor-outdoor cat, so it was extremely difficult if not impossible to keep in inside. He'd blast through the door like lightning and spend the evening visiting neighbors for treats and attention. But he never failed to return home in time to tuck us both in for a long-nights rest. "He'd jump from the floor to my shoulders, get some lovin, and then jump down to make himself a comfortable nest in the lounge chair". He was always such a character! He enjoyed rough housing and grooming with his housemates, 2 cats "Fonzie & Arianna" and the dog "Cow". When not chasing his red, squooshy red ball, he'd be eagerly waiting at the door to go out.
Ryu was "rescued" twice. His first owner nearly starved him to death, and his 2nd owner did much the same. When he arrived with us, he was skinny, dirty, and screaming for attention. He grew substantially, added some much needed weight and became a regular Tom.
Unfortunately, his thirst for freedom got him into trouble. Upon one of his outings he was infected with FIV and became severely ill and had to be euthanized. By the time it was realized, it was too late. His mouth and tongue had swollen and were covered in bleeding ulcers. The vet determined that treatment would only prolong his painful suffering, so he was humanely euthanized on July 27, 2009 at 2:15 PM CST.
Sammy
Sammy was a sweet, scaredy-cat male who was dumped outdoors when his owners moved. He was rescued from a tree where the neighborhood ferals kept him trapped. He tested positive for feline leukemia and the vet said "put him to sleep'. He was healthy and robust so we said "no" and he was given the entire second level of our home and lived another 6 years before succumbing to the disease. At that time he weighed in at 27 lbs. and loved to play tag or hide-n-seek nightly before going to bed. Sammy is missed in all his chubby glory!
