Interested in an animal that has an "Adoption Pending"?  Don't be afraid to apply!  Don't Give Up!

Here is an example of how TCR deals with multiple applications for the same animal:

Recently we received 3 applications within days of each other for the same rescued kitten.  The application checks were underway and one was approved.  The 1st applicant failed to respond to multiple contact efforts, so their application was voided (turns out they didn't live where they said they did).  The 2nd application was approved, but the applicant adopted elsewhere, thinking she didn't have a chance and that the kitten would be adopted by one of the other applicants.  The 3rd application was denied when their veterinarian strongly recommended against adopting to them.  This kitten remains with TigeraCat Rescues and has not had an application in several weeks.  So he is still waiting, growing up without the benefit of a family.

When you apply, we will keep you posted as your references are checked and be in contact with you if additional information is needed.  We want you to be aware that more than one application does not in any way decrease your chances of becoming a new parent, nor does it ensure the precious cat or kitten you want will be adopted sooner than later.

Apply Now!  You can always change your mind, even if you are approved for adoption.  All we ask is that if you change your mind, please let us know right away so we don't turn away other approved, potential adopters.

If any of the following apply to you, you will not be approved for adoption:
  • If you want to let your cat go outside unattended (does not apply to barn cats).
  • If you can't afford to take an animal to the vet for annual vaccinations, injuries, illnesses, etc. or don't want to.
  • If you are a renter with a lease that does not allow pets. (Prior landlord approval is required for all renters).
  • If you or any person in your household has a history of domestic, child, or animal abuse/neglect or conviction of a violent crime.
  • If you are looking for a "gift" for a household other than your own. (You may pay the adoption fee but, the recipient of such a "gift" must complete the application process him/herself.

Thank You and God Bless You for giving another of His precious creatures a second chance at a healthy life with a loving family.
