WHAT IF I WANT TO MEET AN ANIMAL BEFORE ADOPTING IT?
Contact TigeraCat Rescues to make an appointment.

WHAT IF I FIND A STRAY OR ABANDONED ANIMAL?
  1. Be sure it actually is lost or abandoned.  Cats roam far from home to hunt or to socialize with others, especially if they are not spayed/neutered.
  2. If you find an 'abandoned' litter of kittens or puppies, observe before you interfere.  The mother may be moving them to a different location, and your presence has scared her off.   Young kittens need their mothers, and your interference, although well-intended, may cause many problems.
  3. If there is a stray animal on your property that you must have removed, call your local animal control office.  In Black Hawk County, Iowa, Cedar Bend Humane Society handles all Animal Control issues.  Please be aware that Cedar Bend Humane Society is NOT a "No-Kill" shelter.  If they fail to respond, call your city or county government officials.  Black Hawk County Animal Control, call 319-235-5335
  4. If you find an animal that needs medical attention, please take it to your veterinarian.  You are responsible for those you rescue. We can help you by providing some of the necessary supplies and assistance needed to care for the animal, but we can not accept the animal into our own care, nor can we pay the bills.
  5. For Wildlife concerns, Please contact the Black Hawk Wildlife Rehabilitation Project in Waterloo at 319-277-6511.
  6. TigeraCat Rescues does not yet have sheltering facilities. We are raising funds to build/renovate a facility.  You can help - Donate Today!

Adoption is the Option!

"Until there are none, please adopt one;
So they won't be blue, why not adopt two?"
